Arizer Solo 2 Cleaning Guide

Arizer Solo 2 Max or 3 Cleaning Guide

Why does the vaping community love Arizer vaporizers so much? There are many reasons, but one of the biggest selling points of the Arizer brand is that the company’s vaporizers exclusively use glass stems.

This, out of all features, is one of the most unique to Arizer as a brand, and it’s one of the reasons the vapour quality is so amazing. You see, having a glass stem and herb chamber means that there’s no chance of your herb touching a reactive material, making your vapour clean and tasty.

It also means that cleanup is a breeze – and that’s what we’ll discuss in this Arizer cleaning guide! If you’re having trouble getting those amazing hits from your Arizer Solo 2 Max, and want to restore its original performance and flavour, these cleaning tips will get you back on track in a matter of seconds! This cleaning guide is pretty much the same across the Solo 2 Max and the Arizer Solo 3.

What you need

To start the process of cleaning, you must first gather all of your cleaning materials to make your cleaning process quick and easy! The best materials for cleaning your Arizer are:

    • Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
    • Cotton swabs / dry q-tips
    • Small nylon brush or toothbrush (for stubborn residue on the aroma tube)
    • Paper towels or alcohol wipes

Once you’ve gathered all your cleaning supplies, we suggest putting a paper towel right under your vaporizer before you start cleaning, to avoid having to clean your station after cleaning your vape.

We also highly suggest keeping as many of these as you can in your portable vape kit since you never know when you’ll need to give your vape a nice clean. Rubbing alcohol is hard to carry around, so grime sticks or alcohol wipes could be the best on-the-go options.

Arizer Solo 2 Max Cleaning Guide

Cleaning the Glass Aroma Tube (Stem)

Cleaning the aroma tube of your Arizer is really easy, and this is all you need to do:

    1. Pop it off of the vaporizer (carefully).
    2. Soak the glass parts in isopropyl rubbing alcohol overnight.
    3. Why do this? Because the alcohol breaks up the sticky resins and releases them from the inside of the tube, making it easier to clean later!
    4. Scrub clean with a toothbrush or pipe cleaner.
    5. Rinse with hot water and allow to dry.
    6. Repeat as necessary. Pro tip: don’t use a metal brush because it can etch the glass!

Quick Aroma Tube Cleaning

If you’re in a hurry, you can clean the aroma tube of your Arizer Solo 2 Max a bit more quickly. All you need to do is:

  • Place it in a zip-top bag and add rubbing alcohol to the bag.
  • Swish the tube around in the bag to dislodge resin quickly. Just remember: don’t swish the tube in a bowl or with any other items, for the glass is delicate and can break easily.
  • Then, taking a napkin or wet wipe, give the tube a few careful but efficient scrubs to get all the resin off.

Cleaning the Arizer Oven

Cleaning the Oven / Stainless Steel Dish

All of the internal components are heat rated to temperatures well above the unit's maximum, so if you have noticed any difference in taste, this is likely the cause of an external factor.

Depending on how you use the unit, it is possible for some debris/resin to accumulate in the stainless steel dish, but it is also easy to prevent this from happening by using some simple loading techniques. By using a medium or coarse grind, and by lightly tamping down your material in the chamber of the Glass Aroma Tube to leave a gap between your herbs and the stainless steel dish, you can keep your stainless steel oven clean without ever needing to clean it.

If some resin has accumulated in the heater bowl, you should never use any liquids to try and clean it. Doing so can result in liquid damage to the internal components, which is not covered under warranty and is not repairable.

That said, there is a trick to cleaning the dish. It takes some patience and persistence but it works. After every time you use the unit, take a dry q-tip and scrub the stained area while the dish is still warm. Depending on the extent of the resin accumulation, you may not notice a visual difference in the bowl the first couple times you do this, but you should notice the q-tip collects some brown residue as you use it to scrub the dish. Repeat this cleaning routine with every use, and start to load your Glass Aroma Tubes with some extra space, and before you know it you'll have a clean bowl that stays clean without any scrubbing necessary.

Pro Cleaning Tips for the Arizer Solo 2 Max and Solo 3

We love all the cool little tips and tricks we pick up when reviewing and using all the different vaporizers we offer. We also want you to know all these pro tips for the Arizer Solo 2 Max, and cleaning a vape in general. So here are some of our favourite to date:

    • Do you make herb tinctures? If yes, clean your Arizer aroma tube with the same drinkable alcohol (instead of rubbing alcohol) that you use to make the tincture. The resins stuck in the tube of your Arizer are still active and can be reclaimed for future enjoyment. You should notice that the final tincture is a bit stronger from the resins in the alcohol! Check Out: How to make tincture for more info.
    • When you pack the aroma tube of your Arizer, use a medium or coarse grind and push the herbs down lightly with your finger or a tool, leaving a gap between your herbs and the stainless steel dish. This will reduce the residue that ends up in your vaporizer’s oven.
    • When cleaning your Arizer, you might notice that the oven is a bit discoloured. But don’t worry, it’s normal for ovens and chambers to lose their colour over time. However, this doesn’t affect the vapour in any way.
    • Always include the essential cleaning supplies in your vape kit so that you can always be ready to give your vaporizer a quick clean. This will make it easier for you to create a habit of cleaning your vape regularly, and it will also make it much less of a hassle.
