DaVinci IQC Review
DaVinci IQC Vaporizer Review
The DaVinci IQC Vaporizer has been regarded as one of the best conduction vaporizers on the market today, so I thought I'd check it out and see if these claims had any truth to them.
The DaVinci IQC is an improvement on both the original DaVinci IQ released in 2016 and its successor, the DaVinci IQ2, released in 2019. Being the newest portable vaporizer on the block from DaVinci Tech, the DaVinci IQC has got a lot to live up to, so I put it to the test.
Design
The DaVinci IQC Vaporizer stays well within DaVinci's usual design philosophy of keeping devices stylish, quiet and discreet. The body is made from beautiful sandblasted aluminium which gives both a nice look and feel to the device, as well as keeping things durable enough for day-to-day use.
From the get-go, if we compare the DaVinci IQC to the IQ2, we immediately see a few differences. The usual aluminium lids of the IQ and IQ2 have been swapped for a more bold and contrasty black polymer lid, which I personally like the look of.
The air dial on the bottom of the IQ2 is no more. Instead, on the DaVinci IQC, there is a sleek logo on the flat bottom of the device, giving the profile of the device a sleeker overall look.
One of the more notable design features of the DaVinci IQC is the decision to change out the old and outdated USB micro charger for an updated type USB-C charger. This decision is one I will always stand by, as the cost of USB-C chargers is only marginally more than USB micro chargers, but is significantly better in every single way shape and form.
With all this in mind, I was left to explore if the functionality of the DaVinci IQC Dry Herb Vaporizer stands up to the quality we know and love from the DaVinci IQ2.
Temperatures
The DaVinci IQC has 3 completely different modes of operation when it comes to temperature control, each having advantages in different situations or preferences:
Smart Path™ Mode. This mode gives you a range of preset temperature ranges to choose from, each able to be adjusted precisely with the app. Each preset begins at the lower temperature and increases to the higher temperature over 8 minutes:
- Smart Path 1: 176°C - 188°C (350°F - 370°F)
- Smart Path 2: 188°C - 199°C (370°F - 390°F)
- Smart Path 3: 199°C - 210°C (390°F - 410°F)
- Smart Path 4: 210°C - 221°C (410°F - 430°F)
Precision Mode. This mode allows you to set the temperature of the device to within 1 degree of accuracy, allowing you to get that precise boiling point you may need.
Boost Mode. Press and hold the control button - this will immediately boost the temperature of the DaVinci IQC to 210°C (430°F) and turn the control button red. Press the up or down buttons to exit boost mode.
Overall, the amount of temperature settings, combined with the control you can achieve with the app, is everything you could need or want from a modern-day vape. Extremely solid, and what we’ve come to expect from the manufacturers of some of the best conduction vaporizers available today.
How Long Session Can You Get From Your IQC?
The battery life on the IQC is respectable. With a life which can provide 6-8 sessions depending on the temperature you use and if you have Bluetooth connectivity on, it definitely has enough juice to do the job and do the job right.
Charging takes around 2 hours to go from 0-100%, a little slow, even with the USB-C charging.
However, thanks to the removable 18650 battery, you can simply purchase a spare battery and hot-swap it to continue as long as you need. A feature most vapes don't have today.
To check the remaining battery life on the DaVinci IQC, press both temperature buttons simultaneously once. The IQC also vibrates when 10% battery remains, which is a very nice feature as if you're like me, I forget to check the battery life of my vapes constantly.
Vapour Quality
Just like the IQ2, you are able to adjust the DaVinci IQC's “pearl” into just the right spot for even heating of your specific contents. This allows you to get the most out of your dry herb or concentrate.
Unlike the IQ2, however, the DaVinci IQC does not have the airflow adjustment of its predecessor. This can mean if you pack the heating chamber too tightly, the draw resistance can quickly get quite high as the airflow is restricted, which can affect the vapour quality of your device.
When it's packed just right, however, the vapour quality is everything we have come to expect from DaVinci. When you figure out the sweet spot of the correct smart path mode for your concentrate, the clouds are clean, cool, surprisingly dense for a conduction vaporizer and very flavourful thanks to DaVinci's flavour path technology.
In my opinion, and after testing both the IQ2 and IQC back-to-back with the same dry herb, the IQC takes the cake, as long as you spend the time to figure it out.

Materials
The IQC comes with two mouthpieces - one which is flat and keeps the sleek profile of the IQC, and another which is a tube style mouthpiece able to be used as a 10mm glass adapter.
The mouthpiece this time has not been made out of Zirconia which we know DaVinci for, but instead a silicone material which can withstand high temperatures and stays cooler for longer. The lid is also now made out of an antimicrobial polymer material, keeping costs down, whilst providing the same medical-grade functionality.
Bluetooth App
The DaVinci IQC works with the DaVinci App, which is available on all platforms, but still a bit more of a pain to get working on IOS as you have to manually install it vs the Play Store on Android.
The app comes with the controls you would expect from a modern-day smart vape, as well as the controls you would expect to find on a DaVinci device, sans the real-time dosage tracking you get with the IQ2:
- Custom Smart Path controls
- Precision temperature control
- Stealth mode to control LED brightness
- Vibrate mode
- Device information and graphs
You can enable or disable Bluetooth on your device by pressing both the temperature buttons simultaneously 5 times within a 4-second window. To which the control button will turn blue.
Disabling Bluetooth will help preserve battery life, which is why I personally choose to use all of my vapes without Bluetooth enabled.
The device automatically disconnects from Bluetooth when less than 3% of batten remains.
How to use?
The DaVinci IQC is fairly intuitive to use, especially when using the preset smart paths embedded in the device. Here is a step-by-step guide to operation:
- Pack your device. Open the IQC's bottom lid to reveal the glass lined ceramic oven. Pack the herb tightly, but not too tightly, for maximum density and flavour.
- Power the IQC on / off by clicking the circular power button five times
- Set your temperature settings using Celsius or Fahrenheit on your device by pressing all 3 buttons simultaneously. Then decide if you are using either DaVinci's Smart Paths or Precision Mode, as explained earlier.
- Wait for the vibration. When the device has come up to temperature, it will vibrate.
- Vape! Simply draw from the mouthpiece of the device.
The DaVinci IQC also features an onboard pick too, tucked away under the upper lid along the inner wall, which can be used for stirring and packing the herb as well as removing the dosage pods and flavour chamber.
Pro Tip: The extended mouthpiece also functions as a 10mm water pipe adapter.
How to clean your IQC?
DaVinci state that to get the best usage out of your device consistently, it should be cleaned regularly. Regular depends on your consumption and usage, but I've found cleaning it once a week has kept my device in top condition. This is the method I use:
- Disassemble. Take the mouth piece and flavour chamber out of the device.
- Soak. Soak these parts in isopropyl alcohol, cleaning them from particulate.
- Clean everything else. I use a cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol to reach all the other annoying spots like the oven in which particulate tends to build up in over time. The Body can be cleaned using alcohol wipes or organic wipes.
- Dry / Rinse and Assemble. Wipe everything off and reassemble, ready to use.
How long is the warranty?
DaVinci gives each of their devices a 5-year limited warranty - meaning if any manufacturing defects or defects in materials happen over normal use within 5 years, they will repair the device for you. This doesn't include normal performance degradation of things like the mouthpiece or if you neglect the device to the point of damaging it.
